    Active Ingredient:

    Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, Mometasone Furoate

    Description

Melacare® Forte Cream is manufactured by Ajanta. The active substances comprised in Melacare® Forte Cream are Hydroquinone (benzene derivative of phenol type and a lightening agent), Tretinoin (retinol), and Mometasone Furoate (corticosteroid of glucocorticoid class).

    Indications:

    - hyperpigmentation (darkened areas of the skin, including freckles, chloasma (also known as melasma), age spots, liver spots and even acne scars).

Hyperpigmentation is a skin disorder associated with melanin overproduction, usually caused by genetic predisposition, sun exposure, pregnancy, hormone treatments, skin trauma, use of perfumes and deodorants, or hypothyroidism.

    MOA (mechanism of action):

Hydroquinone blocks the enzyme tyrosinase – responsible for melanin production, therefore breaks down the melanin pigment granules in the melanocytes and allows brown patches reverse to a normal complexion.

Tretinoin binds to specific retinoic acid receptors and regulates cell differentiation and growth. It stimulates new epithelial cells production while exfoliating the old skin cells. Thus, Tretinoin speeds up the cells regeneration and lightening of the skin.

Mometasone Furoate acts as an anti-inflammatory agent blocking the release of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It also decreases the risk of contact dermatitis development that may appear due to the Hydroquinone and Tretinoin application.
