    Description

iCare® HIV 1&2 Rapid Screen Test is produced by JAL Innovation Ltd. Using this kit both men and women can find out if they have HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) within 15 minutes.

HIV is a lentivirus (a subgroup of retrovirus) that causes HIV infection and over time acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). AIDS is a condition in humans in which progressive failure of the immune system allows life-threatening opportunistic infections and cancers to thrive.

    How does test work:

the analysis starts applied into the sample well (after the blood is absorbed). A recombinant HIV antigen conjugated to colloidal gold embedded in the sample pad reacts with the HIV antibody present in whole blood, forming conjugate/HIV antibody complex. As the mixture is allowed to migrate along the test strip, the conjugate/HIV antibody complex is captured by recombinant HIV antigen immobilized on a membrane forming a colored test line in the test region.

The kit is a reliable way to get private, accurate and rapid results.

iCare® HIV 1&2 Rapid Screen Test kit consists of cassette, micropipette, alcohol prep pad, buffer bottle (chemical), lancet (needle), desiccant (to keep contents dry).

Each test is for one-time usage only. If there has been a possible exposure to infected blood, and the person tests negative for HIV, the test must be repeated in 90 days.

How to use iCare® HIV 1&2 Rapid Screen Test:

The steps involved must be followed closely:

    1. Clear your finger with an alcohol pad.

    2. Push in and twist the knob of the lancet. Pull out the knob.

    3. Place the lancet on the finger surface and press the trigger.

    4. Take micropipette and collect two drops of blood.

    5. Place two blood drops into the Sample Well.

    6. Open the cap of the diluent bottle and after the blood is absorbed, place slowly two drops of the diluent liquid into the Sample Well. Make sure that liquid touches the “C” (control) line.

Actually, the results may be seen within 1 to 15 minutes. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.

The test can also be held using serum or plasma.

    Test Results

Positive: two lines (purplish red bands) will appear on the “C” (control) and “T” (test). This indicates a presence of HIV in the test sample.

Negative: one pink colored line along “C” indicates that your test is negative for HIV (you are not infected).

Invalid: no visible lines at all, or there is a visible line only at “T”, but not at “C”. Repeat the test by using a new test device.

Note that the Test Kit is an aid only to identify individual at this time.

Each test is for one-time usage only. If there has been a possible exposure to infected blood, and the person tests negative for HIV, the test must be repeated in 90 days. All positive results must be confirmed by an alternate method.

    Storage

Store at room temperature between 2°C and 30°C (35 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused kit after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.
