    Description

    Cipcal® is manufactured by Cipla.

Cipcal® tablets contain Calcium Carbonate and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3).

Calcium Carbonate plays a vital role in the functioning of your body: nerves, cells, muscles, and bones. If there is a lack of Calcium in the blood, then the body takes Calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones. Therefore, sufficient intake of Calcium is necessary to keep the bones strong.

Cholecalciferol is a fat-soluble vitamin, the most active form of Vitamin D, that is produced by the body when skin is exposed to sunlight. The main objective of Cholecalciferol is to facilitate the absorption of Calcium and Phosphorus. It regulates hormone release, blood pressure and conduction of nerve impulses. Furthermore, Cholecalciferol is a subcomponent of certain structural proteins and steroids, and it has antioxidant functions against microbial pathogens.

    Common use of Cipcal®

Cipcal® is used to prevent or treat the lack of Calcium. It may be used to treat conditions caused by low Calcium levels such as bone loss (osteoporosis), weak bones (steomalacia/rickets), decreased activity of the parathyroid gland (hypoparathyroidism), and a certain muscle disease (latent tetany).

Cipcal® may also be used in certain patients to make sure they are getting enough Calcium (e.g., women who are pregnant, nursing, or postmenopausal, people taking certain medications such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, or prednisone).

    Dosage

Recommended dosage of Cipcal® is 1 tablet per day orally (by mouth) with food.

For best absorption, if your total daily dose is more than 600 mg, divide your dose and space it throughout the day.

If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Use Cipcal® regularly to get the most benefit from it.

    Missing a dose

If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember about your missing. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not exceed the doctor's recommended dose. Do not take a double dose.

    Overdose

If an overdose occurs and you are feeling unwell, you should seek emergency medical attention or contact your healthcare provider immediately.

    Storage

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.
